Privacy Policy

Plain-language summary: we collect what we need to run FindMyDance — your account details, bookings, and, for studios, business and payout information. We don’t sell your personal data. You can ask us to show, correct, or delete it at any time.

1. Who we are

FindMyDance (“we”, “us”) operates findmydance.app, a platform where dancers discover and book dance classes and where studios and teachers list and manage their classes. This policy explains how we handle personal data for both dancers and studio/teacher accounts.

2. What we collect

From all users:

  • Account details — name, email address, password (stored hashed), profile photo if you add one, language preference (EN/VI).
  • Sign-in via third parties (e.g. Google, Apple) — the name and email those services share with us. If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email”, we receive and use the relay address Apple provides.
  • Usage data — pages viewed, searches, filters used, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your chosen city.

From dancers:

  • Bookings and transaction history — classes booked, amounts paid, payment status. Card details are processed by our payment provider and never stored on our servers.
  • Favorites, reviews, and messages you send to studios.
  • Health and access notes (optional) — if you choose to tell a studio about an injury, a pregnancy, recent surgery, or anything else that affects how you move, that note is stored with the booking you wrote it for. You never have to provide it, and leaving it blank makes no difference to your booking.
  • Notes a studio keeps about you — a studio can record its own notes and contact details for dancers who book with it, such as a corrected phone number, a social handle, or a reminder from reception. These are visible only to that studio, are not shown to you in the app, and are not shared with other studios. You can ask us at any time what a studio holds about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted.

From studios & teachers:

  • Business details — studio name, address and map location, styles, class listings, photos and videos you upload, teacher profiles you create.
  • Payout details — bank or payment-provider information needed to pay you, handled through our payment provider.
  • Class rosters, booking records, and messages with students.

3. How we use your data

  • To run the platform — showing classes, processing bookings and payments, managing rosters, delivering messages between dancers and studios.
  • To personalize your experience — e.g. showing classes in your chosen city and remembering your preferences.
  • To communicate with you — booking confirmations, reminders, changes to classes, and service updates. Marketing emails only with your consent, with unsubscribe in every email.
  • To keep the platform safe — preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
  • To improve FindMyDance — aggregated, de-identified analytics about how the platform is used.

Health information you choose to share. A note you add when booking goes only to the studio running that class and the teacher taking it, so they can adapt what they ask of you and help you train more safely. We use it for nothing else — not to build a profile of you, not for advertising, and not to decide whether you may book. It is never sold, and never shared with other studios or other dancers.

Because this is health information, we rely on your explicit consent, which you give by choosing to write the note. You can withdraw it at any time by asking us or the studio to delete the note. Your booking is not affected.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. When we share data

  • Between users, as the service requires — when you book a class, the studio sees your name and booking details; dancers see the studio information studios choose to publish.
  • A health note reaches one studio only: the one running the class you booked. Other studios on FindMyDance cannot see it, and neither can other dancers.
  • Service providers — payment processing, hosting, email delivery, map and address services (e.g. Google Maps), and analytics providers, each bound to use data only to provide their service to us.
  • Legal reasons — if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the platform.
  • Business transfers — if FindMyDance is involved in a merger or acquisition, data may transfer with it; this policy would continue to apply.

5. Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember preferences like your city and language, and analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. You can control non-essential cookies through the cookie banner and your browser settings.

6. Where your data is processed

FindMyDance is operated by Aurum Services LLC, a company registered in the United States, and the services we rely on to run it — hosting, email delivery, maps and analytics — process data outside Vietnam. So if you are in Vietnam, using FindMyDance means your personal data is transferred abroad.

We do that on the basis of your consent and because it is necessary to provide the service you asked for. Where Vietnam’s Personal Data Protection Decree (Decree 13/2023/ND-CP) requires it, we prepare and file a transfer impact assessment, and we hold our processors to terms that protect your data to the standard described in this policy.

You can ask us where a particular category of your data is held, or object to the transfer, at info@findmydance.app. Objecting may mean we can no longer provide the service.

7. How long we keep data

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within 90 days, except records we must keep longer for legal, tax, or accounting reasons (e.g. transaction records) and content that has been de-identified.

Health notes are kept for as long as the booking they belong to and are deleted with it. You can ask for a note to be deleted sooner at any time, without affecting the booking.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law — including Vietnam’s Personal Data Protection Decree (Decree 13/2023/ND-CP) and, where it applies, the GDPR — you can:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your data and your account.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.

9. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and reputable hosting and payment providers. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

10. Children

FindMyDance accounts are for users aged 16 and over. Classes for children (e.g. kids’ hip-hop) must be booked by a parent or guardian, and we collect the child’s information only as needed for the booking, with the guardian’s consent.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. For significant changes we will notify you by email or in-app before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
